Overview of the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 Smartphone Gimbal

Building on the predecessor Osmo Mobile 5 Smartphone gimbal, this Osmo Mobile 6 Smartphone gimbal also from DJI is a professional stabilizer that is even more compact and now features an extension rod for upto 22cm length. The included magnetic phone clamp is an improved version in that it allows the gimbal to automatically detect your phone and is able to align the clamp.

Other improved features include better stabilityfor a longer distance, provided by the updated ActiveTrack 5.0 that enables for automatic tracking of body shapes to follow human subjects withouting needing to do so manually. The gimbal is controlled using the DJI Mimo app that connects to your phone via Bluetooth 5 for multiple shooting modes and functions. These include Sport, Portrait, Underslung, Landscape, Time-Lapse, Motion-Lapse, Hyperlapse, Panorama, Slow-Motion, Inception-style spin (SpinShot), and a Sport mode for fast-action shooting. For more control, you can use hand gestures to enable track your movement, start/stop your smartphone camera, take a selfie or also the joystick controls.

The Osmo 6 gimbal can fit smartphones of upto 3.3" (8.4 cm) in width. It has an intergrated intelligent sensor that tells you when you mount your smartphone. For power Osmo 6 has a built-in battery with a runtime of 6.4 hours and it takes 1.5 hours to recharge it using the included Type-C cable. Finally, at the bottom of the gimbal there is a 1/4 inch mounting thread to mount the gimbal on the included grip tripod or other accessories. A storage pouch is also included to store and transport the gimbal.

DJI Mimo App

Using the Mimo app, you can Live stream your shots on YouTube Live. You can also take one-second-long exposures to produce light trails, star trails, and dramatically blurred cars without a tripod.
