The Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S is a standard zoom capable of taking wide-angle shots to portrait-length shots. With a constant maximum aperture of f/2.8, this lens works great in a variety of lighting conditions. The f/2.8 aperture also provides for an increased control over the depth of field for selective focus. Its optical construction consists of four aspherical elements that aid to control spherical and chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range for improved clarity and sharpness. To reduce flare, ghosting, and surface reflections for better contrast and color fidelity this lens has ARNEO, Nano Crystal coating and Super Integrated coating.

The focus system is made up of two stepping motors that enable for fast, accurate and quiet focusing along with full-time manual focus override, to suit both stills and video needs. The lens' physical design has an OLED information panel where aperture and focus settings are displayed. An assignable L.Fn button on this lens allows for making exposure and settings adjustments via the lens. Additionally, a programmable control ring can be set for intuitive adjustment over a variety of camera and exposure settings. Rounded nine-blade diaphragm promotes a pleasing out of focus quality that benefits the use of shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques.
